Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
We collect as little about you as we can. We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t need your name to read the site, contact us or send a correction.
What we collect
When you read the site
– Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) to keep the site running and secure. [STACK: confirm the host’s log retention period and state it here.]
– [STACK, analytics. Pick one and delete the other.] We use privacy-focused analytics that don’t use cookies and don’t identify you. OR We use Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies; you can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
When you contact us
– Whatever you choose to send: your message, and an email address if you want a reply. You can leave out your name. We use it only to answer you and to act on what you sent.
When you sign up for the newsletter
– Your email address, used only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link. [STACK: name the email provider, e.g. “Our newsletter is sent through
Comments [STACK: delete this section if comments are off.]
– Your comment, the name you enter (it can be a nickname), and the email address you enter, which is never shown. WordPress also records the commenter’s IP address to filter spam.
Reddit posts shown on our pages
– Some reviews and guides show public Reddit posts using Reddit’s own embed. When a page with an embedded post loads, your browser connects to Reddit, which may set cookies and receive your IP address under Reddit’s privacy policy. We don’t receive any of that data.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or share personal information with advertisers, manufacturers or sellers.
- We never publish personal information about anyone, including people who contact us, comment or complain about a company. If you send us a tip or a complaint, we won’t name you or pass on your details without your explicit permission.
- We don’t run ads that track you across other sites. [STACK: change this line if ad networks are ever added.]
Cookies
[STACK: list the cookies actually set at launch. A WordPress site with no analytics or comments sets none for readers.]
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 12 months, then deleted, unless they relate to an ongoing correction or legal matter.
- Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: [STACK: host’s retention period].
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us. If you’re in the EU or UK you have these rights under the GDPR; if you’re in California, under the CCPA/CPRA. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes are noted here.
